9月6日，巴西驻广州总领事馆于在广州卓美亚酒店举办巴西独立202周年暨中巴建交50周年晚宴招待会。

On the evening of September 6th, the Consulate General of Brazil in Guangzhou held a dinner reception at the Jumeirah Hotel in Guangzhou to celebrate the 202nd anniversary of Brazil's independence and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil.

广东省政府党组成员陈良贤先生，广州市副市长江智涛先生，广东省外办、广州市外办、南沙区外办、云浮市外办、中山市外办、广西柳州市外办的代表以及数十家驻穗领馆代表等出席了招待会。商会副秘书长李祐承，理事廖隽妤、邱文艳、林立光、陈荣标、罗芹芹，会员黎捷、王晓彬、黄冠恩、罗惠兰、谭志佳应邀参加活动。

Mr. Chen Liangxian, member of the CPC Leadership Group of the Guangdong Provincial Government, Mr. Jiang Zhitao, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, representatives from the Foreign Affairs Offices of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou, Nansha District, Yunfu, Zhongshan, Liuzhou of Guangxi, and dozens of consulates in Guangzhou attended the reception.The Chamber's Deputy Secretary General Yau-Cheng Lee, Council Members Junyu Liao, Wenyan Qiu, Liguang Lin, Rongbiao Chen and Qinqin Luo, and Members Jie Lai, Xiaobin Wang, Guan-En Huang, Huilan Luo, and Zhijia Tan were invited to attend the event.

Mr. Alan Coelho de Selos, Consul General, said in his speech that, despite the immense distance, Brazilians and Chinese – and particularly the Cantonese and the entire South of China – are very similar in our appreciation for the values of country and family, as well as in our festive, friendly and informal spirit. Since Brazil and China were upgraded to a global strategic partnership in 2012, the economic and trade relations have shown a significant upward trajectory. Based on this strong commercial partnership, our friendship is reflected in our shared values of defending the rights of our two peoples to development and prosperity, seeking joint solutions to global challenges, and in the active role that Brazil and China play on the international stage.

Chen Liangxian said that China-Brazil cooperation has been fruitful over the past half century. Driven by the bilateral relationship, Guangdong's engagement with Brazil has been full of highlights. At present, Guangdong is deeply studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches during his visit to Guangdong, and is solidly pushing forward the Guangdong practice of Chinese-style modernisation, which provides a broader space for deepening the multi-disciplinary co-operation between Guangdong and other countries, including Brazil, in a sustained manner. Taking the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil as an opportunity, Guangdong is willing to continue to work with Brazilian partners from all walks of life, closely interact at all levels, deepen exchanges in all fields, and make new and greater contributions to pushing the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
